Berlin dancing has been prohibited in
Germany. It is recalled that a similar ban
was imposed at the beginning of the
offensive on the western front and other
major campaigns.
There are many other reasons that
make men belive that an invasion is
imminent. There are signs, accordipg to
neutral correspondents, that the people of
Germany are getting nervous and await
impatiently the news, that the invasion
has been started.
There have also, of late, been disturb-
ances in Denmark, Checho-Slovakia and
Western-Polland, where 7 Poles have been
sentenced to death. The were accused of
illtreating defenceless Poles. Hitler is
again conferring with High Army offic-
cials. There are only a few weeks of good
weather lft and everything points in the
direction, that an incasion will be tried
soon. — The people of Britain, it is stated
are calm and steady.
RECEPTION FORBIDDEN.
London today.
It is learned from Bucarest that a re-
ceytion from the Hungarian and Rouman-
ian delegations which was to be held at
Baile Hercular near the Jugoslav frontier
was halted by the order of the Bucarest
authorities.
CAN ENGLAND BE INVADED?
London, August 14th.
British and American newspapers
discuss the possibility of a German at-
tempt to invade Britain. The Manchester
Guardian declares that if such an attempt
were made it would be repulsed before
the summer were over. The American re-
porter, Knickerbocker is of the opinion
that the Germans could never destroy the
British air Force.
In a broadcast from Boston, it was
stated that American specialists consider-
ed the British planes superior to the Ger-
man.
BLOCKADE IS BEGINNING TO
AFFECT ITALY.
London, August 14th.
The British blockade is beginning to
make itself felt in Italy. Last week 45,300
tons of merchandise, bound for Italy, were
taken by the British.
