Biskupstungur field in Reykholt
Free
What happens when the descendants of Vikings decide to get together in
a field and reenact the battles of their ancestors? Visit Reykholt on the 22
and 23 to find out. Fifty or more actors will stage battles in full Viking attire.
It should be a sight to behold. If you’re a peaceful Viking, you can also
take a tour of the rest of the “realistic” Viking town that’ll be erected over
the weekend, including crafts, and, hopefully, food. If you want to come
prepared, watch The Raven Flies, an Icelandic viking film from the ‘80s.
Bring your wooden sword (for ornamental use only) and pick a side to roar
for. SO
