News You Can Use Chapel of Light For information concerning programs at the Chapel of Light call 4111 unless otherwise noted: • The Chapel Youth Group meets 7 - 8:30 p.m. in the Chapel Annex on Wednesdays. Students from grades 7 - 12 are welcome. • Pioneer Club is in need of teachers for preschoolers and the third and fourth grade along with teaching assistants and substitutes for all classes. For information call 2348 after 5 p.m. • The Catholic Apologetics Study Group meets at the chapel Wednesdays at 7 p.m. • A Giving Tree, or Angel Tree, will be used by all faith groups to reach out to the less for- tunate living in Iceland and on our own base. In the Chapel Annex there will be a Christmas tree with paper ornaments with special gift requests. If a person decides to participate and help others by choosing an ornament, follow the directions on the orna- ment. The gift should be brought to the chapel by Dec. 10. • Classes on Liturgical praise dancing will take place in the gym on Saturdays. All are welcome to attend. • Beginning Dec. 1, the 4:30 p.m. Saturday Informal Communion Service will be dis- continued. • New Believers Class begins at 6:30 p.m., Dec. 1 in the chapel conference room. • The Chapel of Light will soon have a new electronic marque that will announce events taking place in the chapel community. • In January, Randy Dodd's ministry troupe, consisting of the band PowerSurge and a bevy of teachers, preachers and resource- leaders, will be in Iceland for five days. Events will take place on base and in Reykjavik. • Advent Suppers will begin at 5:30 p.m., Dec 5. The first supper will be sponsored and led by the Liturgical congregation. • Gospel and Pentecost Revival groups will meet together for services and a potluck din- ner at 2 p.m., Dec. 9. FFSC All programs are held at the FFSC unless otherwise noted. Reservations are required for all programs, with the exception of Base Indoctrination and Spouse Employment Orientation. Chief Association The Chief Petty Officer Association invites all chief petty officers to attend meetings at 3 p.m. on the third Wednesday of every month. First Class Association The First Class Association invites all E-6s to attend meetings and training at 3:30 p.m. on the first and third Tuesday of every month. The next meeting will be 3 - 4 p.m., Tuesday at Hangar 831, room .1-25. HM2(FMF) Richard Super, an independent duty corps- men from Patron Squadron EIGHT, will be conducting training on one of four military requirements for the chief rating exam. Topics will include first aid and health (BMR, chapter 14). All First Class Petty Officers are invited to attend. E-5 Association The Keflavik E-5 Association is a communi- ty service organization for all armed forces personnel in the E-5 pay grade. Arctic Coupon Connection Commissary shoppers can take advantage of easier savings with new bins located at the store’s exit. Volunteers have separated bins by aisle, with each container having coupons for that aisle. Major product categories for the aisle are contained in each bin. For instance, if a coupon were needed for tooth- paste, a shopper would see “Aisle 1, Tooth” marked on the outside Aisle 1 bin. Inside, a plastic bag labeled “Tooth” would be found. Meetings are held on the second and fourth Tuesdays of the month at 6:30 p.m. in the new USO at the Air Terminal. Post Office To ensure delivery of cards and packages to the United States before Christmas, it is sug- gested items are mailed by the following dates: Dec. 7 - Priority mail Dec. 11 - First class mail Dec. 19 - Express mail The NAS Keflavik Post Office will extend customer service hours beginning Nov. 26. The new hours will be 9 a.m. - 6 p.m., Monday - Friday, 9 a.m. - 2 p.m., Saturday Customers mailing four or more packages can schedule an appointment and avoid the lines. Call 2203 to make an appointment. USO The USO snack bar offers breakfast and lunch Tuesday - Friday and breakfast on Saturday. The gift shop offers a variety of items and is open 9 a.m. - 5 p.m., Monday - Friday. The USO is also expanding and will sell birthday cakes and sandwich platters. Arctic Striders The Arctic Striders Club can help service members get into shape. It is dedicated to not just developing fitness for the present, but ensuring a lifelong achievement of health. Everyone is welcome at 6 p.m. Tuesday’s and 7 a.m., Saturdays. Meet at the indoor running track to join the fun. DRMO The A Cash and Carry sale will be held from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m., Monday, Nov. 26 will be at the DRMO Warehouse, Bldg. 866.
