Brighter smiles shine on Keflavik...

drawing in the Bright Smiles Coloring Contest.
According to A.T. Mahan Elementary Principal Richard Alix, stu-
dents were given an opportunity to enter a drawing contest depicting
the things that makes them smile.
“About two years ago, Capt. Gilbert Bigelow from Naval Branch
Dental Clinic Branch Keflavik and myself sent letters to various com-
panies for corporate support between the dental clinic and the
schools, especially during Dental Health Month,” said Alix. “The folks
at Colgate weren’t aware that so many children lived overseas so they
immediately sent dental materials that included videos, posters,
brushing charts, coloring books and state-of-the-art electric tooth-
brushes for the recent Bright Smiles Coloring Contest.” He added
that after the dental clinic’s visit to the school last month was success-
ful because the students are still enthusiastic about dental hygiene.
The 25 winner’s drawings are on display at the commissary and the
other contestant’s pictures can be viewed at
