Volleyball Action Coming Up!
The 1969 Intramural Volleyball Season is slated to get
underway March 3.The deadlinefor entries is next Wednes-
day, Feb. 26* Competition this season will be held in
three categories; "A”, “AA”, and Recreation. First and
second place winners in each league will be awarded
trophies. If you haven’t registered your team, contact the
fieldhouse, ext. 5191.
'A" First Round Winners
FIRST ROUND WINNERS - AMD’s fast breaking team
clinched the first round “A” League championship when
they defeated runnerup NavCommSta No. 2 in a playoff
game. The players are (standing 1. to r.) Dan Kmiecik,
Clay Leist, Lyle Townsend, Jim Trask, (kneeling 1. tor.).
A1 Karl, Earnest Duffy, John Brown, Max Huston.
NAVSTA NO. 1 WINS 3RD STRAIGHT TITLE
The NavSta No. 1 Basketball juggarnaut made it three
in a row this week, as they clinched the “AA” League
championship. The NavSta quintet won all three intra-
mural rounds and ended the season with a 23-1 overall
record.
The talent-laden club also had the top three scorers in
the “AA” League, led by standout guard Marv Schissel.
Schissel was followed in the scoring race by teammates
Jerry Allen and Pete Evans.
"A" Second Round Winners
SECOND ROUND VICTORS - NSGA gained the top spot in
round two of “A” League competition this season with a
9-1 mark. The players are: (standing 1. to r.) Bill Edens,
Jim Eller, Sam Nash, Bill Harmon, (kneeling 1. to r.) Bill
Budniak, Bill Walsh (coach), Joel Caparoon.
