July key month for cuts
The month of July is the key
month involved in the revised
early release program announced
by the Chief of Naval Operations.
To clarify the story which ap-
peared in the January 27 issue of
the White Falcon, personnel whose
EAOS is July or August can expect
a three month early separation.
Personnel whose EAOS falls in
September probably will be sepa-
rated in July, which is a cut of
two months. Two month early outs
are expected to continue to the
end of the calendar year.
Midland Lutheran College on USO tour;
performances scheduled February 3-7
The Clef-Dwellers,a pop-choral group from Midland Lutheran College
in Fremont, Neb. will stop in Keflavik between February 3 and Feb-
ruary 8 on their tour of the northeast area. The 12 singers, accom-
panied by a three piece combo and their organizer and editor are being
sponsored by USO, National Music __________________
Council, and the Department of
Defense. Show tunes, ballads,
rock and popular songs along with
lively dances will fill the bill
of fare.
The first show is scheduled
on February 3 at 8 p.m. in An-
drews Theater. The next day will
find the group flying to H-3, but
returning by evening for a 7;30
p.m. appearance at the Officer's
Club. A 7:30 p.m. performance is
planned for Rockville's NCO Club
on Friday, February 5. Two shows
are scheduled for Saturday, the
first at the Polar Club at 2 p.m.
followed by a performance at the
Grindavik site at 8 p.m.
Their last scheduled perfor-
mances will be on Sunday when
they perform in the CPO Club at 2
p.m. and in the NCO Club at 7 p.m.
All is not work for the USO
performers. Monday is booked for
rest and sightseeing before de-
parting Iceland on Tuesday.
Weekend sports on AFRS
With football season over, the
weekend sports schedule on AFRS is
limited. One college basketball
game is on the calendar for this
weekend. Maryland plays North
Carolina on Saturday at 7 p.m.
