AFRTS survey

The bewitching hour has been
established for the American For-
ces Radio and Television survey.
A firm deadline of 4 p.m. on Fri-
day, February 26, will signal the
conclusion of the current poll.
The AFRTS staff is presently
digging out from under the deluge
of early returns, but one thing
is becoming very clear. The NATO
base audience is very critical of
the operation, but, most impor-
tant, there are many concrete sug-
gestions being offered which will
prove invaluable in analyzing
survey results.
The 6,000 forms are designed
to provide a basis for determina-
tion of listener needs. Several
complaints have been registered
about lack of survey forms. The
initial supply is exhausted and
personnel and/or dependents are
asked to check with their commands
for possible forms. More than 75
percent of the survey forms were
strituted through base commands.

New housing project half occupied,
April 15 set as final target date
The 100-unit housing project is
three-bedroom officer units filled
The new occupants have complete
of washing machines. According to

the only new officer quarters in
the current program and brings to
52 the numberof units now filled.
The remaining units are scheduled
to be occupied by April 15. For-
ty-four two-bed room enlisted units
are now in use with another 44,
and four four-bedroom enlisted
units remaining before the April
target date.
New officer housing now totals
52 within the last year. There
were 44 officer quarters built as
part of the 140-unit housing com-
pleted a year ago. The enlisted
housing total will swell to 188
upon occupation of the 92 units
in the current program. Ninety-
six new units were completed last
year.
According to public works, one
major item remains on the new
housing project — "a face-lift-
ing for the units." Exterior
painting and sodding of the area
will proceed when the weather im-
proves .

Icelandic band
plays Monday at
Andrews Theater
The Icelandic brass band Sva-
nur, under the direction of
Stjomandi J. Sigurdsson, will
present a concert at Andrews The-
ater on Monday, February 22, at
8 p.m.
The band is celebrating its
40th anniversary and played its
anniversary concert at Haskolabio
in Reykjavik on Dec. 5, 1970.
Their program features songs
from "My Fair Lady" and "Porgy
and Bess," in addition to various
Icelandic melodies.
The band also performs "Sleigh
Ride," "Westminster," "Bugler's
Holiday," and "Those Lazy, Hazy,
Crazy Days of Summer."
