Josephus Daniels, an entry of
the four inch and over class in
the second annual worm race, won
with a record time of four min-
utes and 36 seconds.
The previous record was five
minutes and 18 seconds. Owner
and trainer Donald Kreutzberger
had entries in all other classes.
Kreutzberger's J. Daniels,
inched his way across the finish
line ahead of all other entries
with his record breaking semi-fi-
nal run. Seeing no competition,
Daniels slacked off in the finals
with a five minute and 38 second
timing, on the one meter track.
The under two-inch class was
taken by Charlene, also one of
Kreutzberger's racing pedigrees.
She finished in 11 minutes and 53
seconds to win the class.
Julius, trained and owned by
John Donovan, and Slurpy trained
and owned by Dale Bott, both frcm
NavConmSta, ran a dead heat in the
2-4 inch class. The race was
stopped after a 12-minute dead-
line.
Trophy type loving cups were
awarded to each of the winners.

Weather gains solid hoop lead;
golfers swing into action
Fleet Weather kept a perfect record last week in basketball and
pulled from a tie to a solid first, one game ahead of second place
AMD. ComFAirKef, tied for first with Weather last week, moved to
third position. Personnel moved up one place to fourth while Air Ops
dropped to fifth. NavFac made a
little jump to sixth knocking
Commissary to eighth. The Mar-
ines moved up to seventh keeping
Grindsvik in ninth place in "Bu
league basketball competition.
There were no big changes in
the "A" league basketball teamB,
except Kef. Recreation and 57th
traded spots, while Iceland Kef.
Flootvillir and VP-24 exchanged
positions to round out the league.
In softball VP-24 Officers
came from a low tenth to a re-
spectable third in this week's
standings.
First place as well as second
remained the same with Comptrol-
ler and AFI holding on to these
positions. VP-24 Narcs Moved
down to fifth, while NavFac
moved up to 12th. The remaining
teams either dropped lower or
stayed the same as last week.
Shaping up for golf, the first
week recorded 57th and Rockville
winning six games each in the
American and National golf
leagues.
and NSGA No. 1 hold on to second,
while CFK hasn't played a game as
