The Station Library will dis-
play approximately 50 new books
in the "Icelandic Collection"
this week. The collection in-
cludes fiction, biography, des-
cription and travel. Norse myth-
ology, Old Norse, and Icelandic
literature and Norse discoveries
and explorations in America are
also featured in the collection.
The Viking, one of the new
books, covers the latest discov-
eries made on the Viking Age.
Sixty-two pages of color illus-
trations and more than 300 draw-
ings and photographs add to the
detailed, authoritative text.
In The Morning Of Time is a
book telling about the creation
of the world by Balder, god of
ocence and goodness. The tale
told first to the early
semen.
Another book, The European
Discovery of America, is an ac-
count of all known voyages a-
cross the North Atlantic to the
New World before 1600. Let this
new selection of informative and
interesting books introduce Ice-
land to you.
An overnight shopping trip to
Reykjavik is planned for the
22nd. On the 25th, there will be
a swimming trip to the outdoor
pool in Reykjavik. And the Ice-
landic Symphony will perform on
the evening of the 27th. Call
the tour office at ext. 4200 for
exact times and cost.
If you haven't been to the
hobby shops lately, or if you're
new here, it's time to check them
out. There are now over 225
tapes in the tape facility. And
new molds have been received in
the ceramics shop.

• ARCHIE BUNKER IS COMING TO TOWN: Talk about It's Happening
In Keflavik---AFTV has their own new happening which begins Sunday
evening. Due to the immense popularity of the comedy TV series
All In The Family, on network television in the states, AFRTS-Los
Angeles is shipping the film to all of its stations on a priority
basis. This means AFTV Keflavik will have an episode from All In
The Family each Sunday evening at 7:30 p.m. that was aired no
longer than two months ago in the states. So join the premiere
this Sunday evening. (Wild Kingdom moves to Saturday afternoons).

• NATO BROWNIES VISIT NJARDVIK'S TOMORROW: The NATO base
Brownie Troops are visiting Njardvik's Brownie Scouts Saturday
from 2 until 4 p.m. at the Njardvik Sand Hut. The girls will be
departing from the Girl Scout Hut tomorrow at 1:30 p.m.
• HELP WANTED FOR JUNIOR BASKETBALL: The Junior Basketball
leagues are looking for six volunteers to work on Saturday after-
noons in three two-hour shifts as scorers and timers. Young men
are preferred who are experienced in basketball scoring and who
are available every Saturday for the next nine weeks. This is an
all volunteer program with no monetary compensation. Volunteers
should contact Mr. Dickert during duty hours at 8412 or 8823 after
3 p.m. Or come by the gym in the old school, building 626, just
north of the Officer's Club, between 3 and 9 p.m. weekdays.
• SIGN UP FOR CUB SCOUTS: For the benefit of new arrivals to
the naval station who have boys of Cub Scout age wishing to join a
Pack, the persons to call are: Mrs. Gaines at Ext. 2246 (Pack
436); or Mrs. Seward at Ext. 8853 (Pack 364) Boys must be either
eight years of age or in the third grade.
• AMERICAN EXPRESS NFL FILM PRESENTATION: 54,000 fans saw the
Detroit Lions and the Atlanta Falcons put on the wildest show of
the 1971 NFL season. There were blocked kicks, fumbles, long
kick-off returns and strange interceptions in this contest. Alto-
gether, 11 different players scored for the two teams, some of
whom rarely get to visit the end zone. You can see all the high-
lights of this unusual 'Game of the Week' presented in a 30 minute
color film by the American Express Bank for showing at the follow-
ing places: Saturday—O Club; Monday—56 Club and Midnight Sun;
Tuesday—Grindavik; Wednesday—CPO Club and Thursday at Rockville.
