What the Pledge Means To me
by Joseph Jenkins
I pledge—X promise solemnly, earnest-
ly, witn all mj heart.
I pledge allegiance—1 promise rith
all my heart to be loyal, faithful, obe-
dient to the flag of the United States of
America. I make this promise because
this flag stands for our United States of
America, our republic, our country, whose
government is managed by representatives,
persons elected by the people.
One nation indivisible—one country
which cannot be divided.
With liberty and justice for all—a
country in which everyone may enjoy free-
dom, fairness and justice.
bv Alice Milliman
read by Pamela Alder
We all love our flag, the red, white, and
blue;
So proudly hold it high, as soldiers do!
See how it waves!
Never let it fall!
The Stars and Strips, the best flag of
all!
Let's all face the flag, the red, white
and blue;
And at attention stand as soldiers do!
Hand on your heart, pledge allegiance to
The Stars and Strips, the red, white, and
blue.
