N&vy Exchange
by Nadia Slusar
Service Station
A system wide automotive battery
contract is being negotiated. When
awarded, all exchanges will handle the
same brand battery. The procurement
of batteries must be held to a mini-
mum in order that the present stock
will be on hand in minimal quantities
when the contract is awarded.
The Service Station has issued
its Easter holiday schedule. The
sales area and the gas pumps will be
open during normally scheduled hours
Thursday, Friday and Monday. However,
the three bays will be closed. No
work on vehicles will be done Thurs-
day, Friday and Monday.
Customer inquiry
Q. When are you going to get some
grandfather clocks?
A. Follow-up on the order was ini-
tiated last week.
Q. When do you expect more Pachin-
ko machines?
A. We are not getting any more Pa-
chinko machines because it is less
expensive for you to order them from
the catalog.
Q. Have you ordered some more
toys? Your shelves look empty.
A. When March began, we were
6,500 toys over inventory. However,,
we still have $23,000 worth on order.
Driftwood Cafeteria
Well, folks, we have done it again.
The food and service at the Driftwood
have been so well received by patrons
that a minor problem developed. The
food line was quicker than the pay
line. The sandwiches are such a
successful hit that people buy them as
fast as we can make them. Now, we
have a register for the sandwich line
and you don’t have to stand and wait
in line to pay.
If you haven't come in to try the
new manager's menu, you really are
missing a treat. So, drop in for
breakfast or lunch and take a helping
of the good food and hospitality.
mm
Q. When are your rugs coming in?
A. May or earlier.
Q. When are men's and women's
leather boots arriving?
A. Men's are arriving monthly.
Follow-up on ladies' boots was ini-
tiated last week.

Passports
Are you planning to travel this sum-
mer? Don't forget that some countries
do require military personnel to have a
passport in addition to an ID card and
NATO leave papers. If you are going to
a country that does require a passport,
and don't yet have one, you should start
applying for one at least a month in ad-
vance to be sure of receiving it in
time. To receive a passport, you must
have a notarized birth certificate, two
pictures in the proper size and a money
order for $13.
To obtain the proper kind of pic-
tures, you can go to the Naval Station
Photo Lab in the white building opposite
the Marine Barracks. The lab takes pic-
tures for passports every Tuesday and
Thursday between 8:30 and 11:30 a.m.
Once the pictures are taken, it general-
ly requires five to seven working days
before they are ready to be picked up.
When you have your photos, birth cer-
tificate or old passport and money or-
der, you then go to the passport office
at the IDF building to fill out the
forms and apply for the passport.
It takes two to three weeks to pro-
cess the application and have the pass-
port ready to pick up. So don't delay,
get your passport now so it will be rea-
dy when you want to travel.
