Teresa Ludt, coach for the Rockets, says it will be a "piece of cake". Laura Fiege, coach of the All Stars says, she is getting revenge this time for all Pride: All star‘9 only hope The All Star League is composed of those who failed to make the final cut for the station team. These men have a point to prove and if this was a foot- ball game they would be well favored over the Station's team. However, the Station team has pitching defense and timely hitting plus pride. A great game is anticipated with the Station All Stars favored by the slim margin of one run. the League's beatings by the Rockets. The ladies will square off after the Men's All Star game, starting around 2 p.m. Many of the players will be repre- senting Keflavik in the ladies regional playoffs at Willow Grove, PA. Air Force, Navy slated to clash on diamond The Navy All Stars will square off against the All Stars from the Air Force Monday at 3 p.m-. Rockville and AFI will supply most of the Air Force power while the Navy will have the other nine teams to pick from. The Navy will have the power with the Air Force having the pitching. IRA required only 15 points The First Annual Interservice Racquet- ball championships were held June 7 at West Point, NY with four Keflavik racquetball players witnessing a new change in scoring. Pete Hershfield (IDF), Lori Wegmuller (NCS), Rich Hauge (CFK) and Tim Shortley (NSGA) entered the Senior, Women's, and Doubles competition, respectively. According to the participants, they learned a lot about the sport as it should be played, and Lori did her best by attaining a fourth place finish. The others received some first class experi- ence and Pete missed winning a consola- tion trophy, when he lost the third game in the best of three series, 15-13. All the games ended at 15-points in- stead of the 21-point game that is normal- ly played. At 15 points, the player must win by two points, or be the first person to reach 21-points if there is a tie. The International Racquetball Association is testing the 15-point game in many tournaments, and will probably adopt the 15-point game at the next rules committee meeting. The basic serves observed at the tournament were a low hard serve, a "Z" serve and a change-up serve, all to the opponent's backhand. Volleys con- sisted of ceiling shots to the backhand, until a mistake was made, resulting in a kill shot. The new IRA regulation ball (SEAMCO 444) was the only one used. Litde Leaguers improve skills Fierce competition continues to be the key element to Little League ball playing. After three complete weeks of play, the boys and girls who play are beginning to display their expert ball- playing talents. Although team standings for this week were not available at press time, this week was the last prior to a one-week break for the July 4 holi- days. League play will resume on July 11. Except for a few rained-out games, the Little Leaguers play ball every night Senior League Won Lost Padres 5 1 Dodgers 4 3 except Friday. Friday and Saturday are set aside for makeup games. All the games are played at the Little League Field, across the street from the base nursery. Minor League games begin at 5:30 p.m.; and Major League and Senior League games begin at 7:30 p.m. Bleachers are available at the fields for anyone wishing to watch the games. A refreshment stand is also available. The following are the league standings, by division, for the week ending June 25: Padres 2 4 Minor League 1** Orioles Giants Major League Twins 4 Cards 4 Astros 2 Tigers 4 2 Angels 3 2 Royals 1 4 **Rain-out Game To Makeup 2 2** 5 Automobiles CLASSIFIED ADS pg/U>L,ME BY 5 PM Monday/ 1974 Scout II International. v8-345 - engine ^ P/S, P/B, and AM .radio, dio.
