Naval Station to
play Njardvik
The Naval Station all star team will
play Njardvik in the Stapi Competition
Dec. 28 through Jan. 3.
The first game will be at Njardvik
at 8 p.m. Dec. 28 with the last two
games scheduled in the base gym Dec. 31
at 1 p.m. and Jan. 3 at 8 p.m.
The cup is presented to the winner of
the series with Njardvik being the de-
fending champs.
Iowa college to
play on base
Luther College from Decorah, IA
will visit Iceland as part of the People
to People Sports Program Dec. 27 through
Jan. 3.
They will play several exhibitions
with the Icelandic National team at
Reykjavik and arrive at the base Jan. 1.
They will play the base team Jan. 1
at 3 p.m. and then depart for Norway
Jan. 3 for further exhibitions*
Base to host
University of Iceland
The University of Iceland men's and
women's teams will visit Keflavik for
games against the NATO teams tomorrow.
The women's game will start at 2:30
p.m. with the men's game following.
Bowling League
price increase
Effective tomorrow, there will be ap-
proximately a 30 per cent increase in
price for the Saturday American Junior
Bowling Congress bowling leagues. The
junior/senior league will increase from
$1.50 to $2, the Bantam "A" 's will in-
crease from $1.25 to $1.75 and the
Bantam "B" league will increase from
$1 to $1.25.

Notes
The deadline for submitting 1976
claims under the Civilian Health and
Medical Program of the Uniformed
Services (CHAMPUS) is Dec. 31. Any
claim for care received between Jan.
1 and Dec. 31, 1976 that is not
submitted by deadline cannot be paid.
Providers of medical care under
CHAMPUS who agreed to submit a 1976
claim directly must do so by the above
date. Beneficiaries should remind the
provider about the deadline.
Air Force OTS
Openings available
Some 1,800 openings for Officer
Training School are available to .
enlisted members on active duty and
civilians with engineering, technical
and nontechnical degrees according to
Air Force Recruiting Service officials.
Persons selected will enter OTS before
July 1978. Eligibility information and
application assistance may be obtained
by active-duty people through
consolidated base personnel offices.
Come to the all-night fish fries every Friday
and Saturday night, beginning at 9:30. Deep fried
Icelandic ysa plus a variety of s&lads and
beverages are available.
The Red Wall Snack Bar serves tacos every
Saturday. In addition to the expanded breakfast
menu, waffles are served every Sunday. The spe-
cial Wednesday will be strawberry shortcake.
Free baked goodies are served every Tuesday at
the USO.
Snack bar hours will be expanded to better
serve patrons. It will stay open an extra half
hour in the evening, operating 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
and 5 to 8:15.
Starting today, and continuing through Sunday,
there will be a Bose speaker demonstration at the
USO.
Sunday, the USO will have free kiddie cartoons
from noon to 2 p.m., followed by a visit from
Santa Claus at 2 p.m. Get your picture taken on
Santa's knee.
Dec. 23, Leo Munro will host a program
which features Icelandic Christmas customs.
Also Chapel carolers will be singing. Anyone
interested in caroling and hearing about folklore
is invited to come to the USO and join the festi-
vities at 7 p.m.
There will be a Reykjavik shopping tour Thurs-
day from 12:30 to 5 p.m.
Interested families who wish to host unaccom-
panied servicemembers for Christmas dinner may
call 7980.
Sign up now for a cake decorating class, be-
ginning Jan. 9. The class will run for five
weeks. An Icelandic knitting class will begin
Jan. 11 and 12, lasting for eight weeks. Sign up
at the USO or call for further information.
Day cooks and a custodian are needed at the
USO. Call 7980 or complete an application at the
USO.
