Lt. Col. James R. Sterk presents a photo of the E-3A Sentry and a letter of
appreciation to PH 1 Michael Villalpando and personnel of the Keflavik Nav-
al Station Photo Lab. Lt. Col. Sterk's letter of appreciation indicated,
"I would like to extend my personal thanks for the outstanding photographic
support provided to the 960th AWACSS. The quality and timeliness of this
assistance during awards ceremonies, reenlistments and aircraft tours is
noteworthy. Your personnel have always displayed a professional and court-
eous attitude in their working relationships with members of my staff."

Zacha retires after 20 years service

The 932 AC&WS (Rockville) has
selected the Squadron's NCO and Air-
man of the Quarter for the period
October 31, 1979 to December 31,
1979.
TSgt. James H. Allen was selected
as the squadron's NCO of the Quarter
and his name was also forwarded to
AFI, where he was selected among
other nominees as the NCO of the
Quarter for Air Forces Iceland.
TSgt. Allen works in operations as
the NCO in charge of Standardiza-
tions and Evaluations. Prior to his
assignment in Iceland, TSgt. Allen
was stationed at Malmstrom AFB,
Montana.
SrA. Dennis E. Walter was chosen
as the Airman of the Quarter for the
squadron. SrA. Walter is stationed
in the Search Radar Site as a radar
repairman. He came to Iceland from
Baudette AFS, Minnesota.
To be selected as personnel of
the quarter, both men were recommen-
ded by their supervisors. They and
other nominees were interviewed by
a board consisting of E-7's and
above. They were asked questions
concerning Air Force regulations,
justice in the military and military
bearing.
A retirement ceremony conducted
at Naval Communication Station on
Jan. A saw ETC Dennis G. Zacha enter
into the civilian community after 20
years of faithful service to his
country in the United States Navy.
In attendance during the ceremony
was his wife Elizabeth, Naval Com-
munication Station Chiefs and
guests.
Highlights of his career, which
began on July 13, 1960, include
tours on the USS Investigator (AGR-
9), USS Epperson (DD-719), USS Glove
Immunization clinic
changes hours
The Naval Station Hospital's Im-
munization Clinic recently announced
the following time changes:
Monday—2 to A p.m. Active duty
only. Skin tests for T.B. active
duty and dependents.
Tuesday—2 to A p.m. Active du-
ty only. Skin tests for T.B. active
duty and dependents.
Wednesday—9 a.m. to noon. Check
Monday's skin tests.
Thursday—2 to A p.m. Dependents
only. Check Tuesday's skin tests.
Friday—2 to A p.m. Allergy
shots.
Shot records should be updated
one month prior to departure from
Iceland.
5 Marines promoted
The following Marines were pro-
moted during January: Private
First Class (Pfc.) Steven J.
Piechocky, Pfc. David W. Knotts,
Pfc. Daniel Linares, Lance Corporal
Roger A. Ham and Lance Corporal Wes-
ley W. Stuckey.
(AGDE-1), duty at U.S. Naval Commun-
ication Station, Londonderry; U.S.
Naval Air Station, Lemore, Calif.;
Service School Command, NTC, Great
Lakes, Ill.; Naval Communication
Unit, London, England; and a most
successful tour at Naval Communica-
tion Station, Keflavik, Iceland, as
antenna maintenance crew chief.
Chief Zacha, who will be employed
at Dye-5, will reside in Vojar, Ice-
land. All the Naval Communication
personnel wish him success and "Fair
Winds and Following Seas" in all his
endeavors.
