HOW TO BEAT THE HIGH COST OF LIVING—Comedy drama (PG) . Susan Saint James, Jane Curtin and Jessica Lange are a determined trio who mastermind a plot to heist a shopping mall of a large plastic "moneyball" containing an enormous amount of cash. (105 min.) HERBIE GOES BANANAS—Comedy (G). Herbie, the human- like little Volkswagen, continues his global adventures. A depiction of a mental hospital that is more like a prison than a therapeutic setting. Violence and blackmail take place while little therapy occurs other than disco dancing. (91 min.) U.
