Trivia Show championship The second annual Leo Munro (left) Trivia Show came to a close Monday as the A.T. Mahan School Staff (right) defeated Charlie's Angels in the championship round held at the USO. Members of the winning team are (left to right) James Dinsmore, Rebecca Willis, Sandy Able and Monica Ackermann. Charlie's Angels consisted of Susan Lista, Charlie Dancause, Cari Knapp and Mary Spotz. The Iceland Defense Force team finished in third place. Team members were Mike Corgan, Bill Tracz, Lou Reed and Danene Jessup, Cheryl Ellingwood, USO program director, expressed her appreciation to Leo Munro for his effort in making the show such a popular event. The White Falcon Volume 25, Number 20 Keflavik, Iceland May 21, 1982 Marine-athon '82 News briefs FRA president to visit base The national president of the Fleet Re- serve Association, Larry Cummings, will visit the NATO Base Wednesday through Saturday. Senior^Pisted personnel are invited to meet with the FRA president Thursday at 3 p.m. in the Windbreaker Club. Junior enlisted personnel can meet with him at 3 p.m. on Friday in the Top of the Rock Club. Also, the president will attend the FRA special general membership meeting at the Fleet Home Thursday at 7:30 p.m. All members and other interested per- sonnel are encouraged to attend both the general membership meeting and the appro- priate enlisted meeting at the clubs. Parenting class Monday The Hospital is sponsoring a parenting class to be held Monday at 7 p.m. in the hospital lobby. This month's topic is "Adolescent Child Behavior Management." Indoor gym house defective Creative Playthings has issued a child safety warning concerning one of its toys, the Indoor Gym House. This toy has not been manufactured since 1979, when it was discovered that one of its parts, a ladder leading to a slide, allowed head entrapment and caused strangulation deaths in children under three years of age. However, an estimated 137,000 to 239,000 Creative Playthings Indoor Gym House ladders are still unaccounted for. If you have one of these defective lad- ders, you can obtain a replacement by writing: Creative Playthings, P.0. Box 306, Route 147, Herndon, PA 17830. NCS' Fullbright honored ETl Charles Fullbright was presented the Norman L. Fetter Memorial Award for 1982 by RADM Ronald F. Marryott at the NavCommSta Spring Ball recently. The award recognizes outstanding achievement and service to the command and the NATO Base community. ETl Fullbright is assigned to Nav- CommSta's special communications division at Rockville and is involved with the Brownie and Girl Scout programs, the Ski Club, the Keflavik Dart Association and the Fleet Reserve Association. Radiothon '82 got off to a fast start this year as over $10,000 in pledges were taken in the first three days. Leading the way again this year were Major Bill Green and the men of the Marine Barracks. (Above) The Marine Choir was forced to re-record the Marines' Hymn when the tape mysterious- ly disappeared, along with the Seabee song, (below) the Marine softball team defeated the Naval Communication Station's team and donated the $500 purse to the radiothon.
