VP-26 picks twenty for CDI
By AE2 Pageau and AN Tripp
Patrol Squadron TWENTY-SIX (VP-26) has
designated twenty maintenance technicians
as Collateral Duty Inspector (CDI).
CDIs perform maintenance tasks indepen-
dently and are called upon to ensure work
done by others meets the exacting
specifications of the applicable mainte-
nance directives. Because the CDIs play
such a vital role in maintenance the
selection process is very demanding to
ensure that only the most skilled and
professional technicians are designated
as CDIs.
After CDI candidates have met a basic
experience criteria they must demonstrate
superior knowledge in their field. Their
expertise is examined in their work center
and the Quality Assurance Division admin-
isters- a comprehensive examination. The
selection process then continues through
the chain-of-command to the commanding
officer who assigns the designation.
The CDI designation is not just
handed to anyone, it is earned with a lot
of hard work. To be recognized as a CDI
is a noteworthy achievement. The following
personnel have achieved this goal:
ADI Robert Broski ADI Walter Maluszewski
ADI George Brewer AMSl Warren Gladwin
AMH2 Ronnie Shelton AMH1 Danny Dunaway
AMSl Brad Jewell AMS2 Mathew Casper
AMEC Edward Biel AME1 Dale Tait
AE2 Jeffrey Pageau AE1 James Faulkner
AE2 Michael Meserve A01 Leland Minske
