SLEEPING BEAUTY--Animation (G). Many years ago there lived a king and queen who had long wished for a child. Finally their wish came true. They had a daughter named Briar Rose and invited all the good fairies of the kingdom for her christen- ing. Each fairy in turn bestowed upon the princess a gift of great value, except the wicked fairy who was very angry be- cause she was not invited to the christen- ing at all. She wished that the time the princess becomes fifteen years old she will prick her finger on a spindle and die. Quickly, a good fairy spoke up. "I cannot undo the evil spell", but my gift may soften it. The princess shall not die. but instead sleep for a hundred years. R THE LOONEY, LOONEY BUGS BUNNY--Comedy (G). Bugs Bunny goes West and along the way meets such familiar characters as Road Runner and Daffy Duck. (79 min.) S. CARDIAC ARREST—Horror drama (PG). A San Francisco homocide police officer, Clancy Higgin, gets sick at the sight of a dead body. He is the off-beat policeman assigned to investigating a series of macabre murders. All the victims are found in hotel rooms with their hearts missing. He searches every angle for a motive, until one day a friend mentions the black market. Stars Dav McElhatton and Garry Goodrow. (94 min.) T. GOING IN STYLE—Comedy drama (PG). George Burns, Art Carney and Lee Strasberg are three retired senior citizens living in Queens. They are whiling away the hours sitting on park benches. One day, George Burns suggest they rob a bank to acquire funds for a last fling in life. The others agree and net $35,000 in the robbery. (99 min.) U. SCAVENGER HUNT—Comedy (PG). A "con- temporary" comedy into which has been in- corporated "a little Chaplin, a little Laurel and Hardy and a lot of Mack Sennett." A rich manufacturer dies and sends fifteen of his potential heirs out on a scavenger hunt. In the course of one day, the po- tential heirs must gather a commode, a bee nest, an ostrich, a suit of armor and an obese person. Each article wins them points and it is winner take all. Stars Richard Benjamin and James Coco. (116 min.) V. A STRANGER IS WATCHING—Thriller (R). A woman is raped and murdered in front of her 11-year-old daughter. Due to this traumatic experience, the little girl iden- tifies an innocent delivery boy as the mur- derer. He is subsequently sentenced to death. Meanwhile the real killer stalks and then kidnaps the little girl and anot- her woman. Stars Kate Mulgrew and Rip Torn. (92 min.) W. VENOM—Suspense (R). The setting is fashionable London in a posh town house occupied by a wealthy American hotel tycoon and his wife. They leave their young son in the custody of his grandfather.
