NATO teams
The Keflavik NATO Men's and Women's
basketball teams have been announced for
tournaments being held in Edzell, Scotland
February 17-19 for the ladies and February
28-March 2 for the men.
Both Keflavik teams feature speed and
quickness under the boards. The NATO men,
coached by Jack Reed from AIMD, will rely
on constant substitutions to keep fresh
legs on the court.
The women, coached by Rick Cavazos from
NAVCOMMSTA, have been working hard to get
their team ready for the tournament. One
plus will be Mary Jo Pisko, who plays cen-
ter/forward. Mary recently led her team-
E0D - to the championship of a women's
intramural tournament.
IDF/CFK, EOD win
base basketball titles
In the championship game, EOD swamped
the NSGA squad 39-19 to capture the top
spot. EOD was paced by Mary Jo scoring 12
points as they led at halftime, 27-2. In
winning, EOD emerged with a perfect sea-
son as they held a 6-0 record and were 3-0
in the playoffs.
In the men's intramural final on Mon-
day night, IDF/CFK defeated the 960th by
the score of 68-60. Gary Hobbs, who will
be a member of the NATO Men's squad, hit
for 18 points for the winners. IDF/CFK's
record was 18-1 for the season and 4-0 in
playoff action.
Complete coverage of the intramural fi-
nals will be contained in next week's edi-
tion of The White Falcon.
