Tour Office notes
The Tour Office is sponsoring
a Christmas Shopping Trip to Rey-
kjavik on December 15 and 22.
The bus will leave from the Vik-
ing Mall parking lot at 9 a.m.
and return to the base by 5 p.m.
Reserve seats no later than 1
p.m. the Friday before the tour.
On Sunday, December 16, the
Tour Office will sponsor a bus
to a Reykjavik hotel for a Jazz
Brunch. Besides enjoying the
American-style music there will
be an al1-you-can-eat buffet.
The bus will leave the Viking
Mall parking lot at 11 a.m. and
return around 4 p.m.

use radio waves, they can be
picked up on shortwave and ham
radios. The cheaper cordless
models can even be picked up on
AM radios because they use very
low frequencies.
A thief, overhearing a con-
versation, might be able to gather
credit card information, bank
account numbers or other infor-
mation.
Moreexpensive cordless phones
that use high, less easily tap-
ped, frequencies are becoming
available. Although they are
safer, those telephones are stil1
far from secure, according to
Sergeant Denton.

LA Rams cheerleaders
to visit NATO Base
The Los Angeles Ram's Cheer-
leaders will visit the NATO Base
on December 21 and 22. The group
is sponsored by the Department
of Defense and the USO. They
will perform Friday night in the
Andrew's theater at 7 p.m. and
on Saturday visit Rockville,
the officer's and enlisted clubs
and the USO. That night there
will be another performance in
the theater at 7 p.m.
New banking hours
Beginning December 17, the
American Express Community Bank-
ing Facility will provide after-
noon banking services from 2:00
p.m. through 4:00 p.m., Monday
through Friday. Morning hours
will remain the same (9:00 a.m.
to 1:00 p.m.).
The bank manager, Mr. John
Cutress, stated that the changes
in banking hours were being made
as a result of a survey of cus-
tomer preference and to improve
the overall quality of banking
services to the communtiy.
Hofn band to perform
The "Or What Band" from Hofn,
will perform at the Rockville
Club, Friday and Saturday, Dec.
14 and 15, from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m.
Everyone is invited to attend.

fice is unable to make double
bookings on airline flights. Al-
so, tickets for confirmed reser-
vations should be picked up about
one week before departure. Tic-
kets not picked up will be can-
celled on the day before the
flight.

extremely costly, according to
MSgt. Elry Denton of the 2113th
Communications Squadron in Italy.
Sergeant Denton explains that
thieves can drive through a neigh-
borhood with their own cordless
phone waiting to find a compatible
unit in a home. When they get a

20,000 hours of TV
