Black History Month activities
The 1985 celebration of Black
History Month activities here on
the NATO Base is nearing comple-
tion, with just a few events yet
to be performed. Three of the
events are scheduled to take
place tomorrow. The following is
a list of remaining BHM events:
*The Black History Exhibit
in the NEX Lobby from
10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. is
on Black Americans of the
Present. (Feb. 16)
*"Disco" in the Community
Center. Doctor Rock will
play Soul and Top 40 be-
ginning at 9:30 p.m.

♦Another Black History Ex-
hibit in the NEX Lobby.lt
will be from 10:30a.m. to
1:30 p.m. and be about
Blacks in the military
and of the future. (Feb.

♦The Gospel Choir in Con-

One way to beat “House-hibernation”
Children of the Filipino-American community were recently treated
to an evening of fun and games at the base Community Center. The
informal gathering of parents and children was provided to relieve
the routine of "house-hibernation" sometimes experienced by young-
sters. The evening was also used to bid farewell to one of the
communities's departing families.
Air Force selective re-enlistment
RANDOLPH AFB, Texas (AFNS) —
The maximum selective re-enlist-
ment bonus for Air Force person-
nel has been increased from
$16,000 to $20,000. The change,
with an effective date of Novem-
ber 20, was announced by person-
nel officials in Washington on
January 25.
The bonus is paid to enlisted
members serving in certain cri-
tical military specialties who
re-enlist for additional obli-
gated service.
Anyone who re-enlisted in a
bonus skill on or after November
20 whose SRB was capped at
$16,000 will be identified by the
Air Force Accounting and Finance
Center, officials said.
The total bonus amount is to
be recalculated and the differ-
ance paid within 60 days, ttey
added. Further annual install-
ments will include the increased
amount. The Air Force Base
Career Advisor has additional
information.

NAVSTA earns citation
Nine years of aviation safety
has earned theU.S. Naval Station
here a citation from Vice Admiral
Robert F. Dunn, Commander Naval
Air Atlantic.
From December 21, 1975 until
December 20, 1984 the command
has operated the administrative
support aircraft without a Class
A mishap.
The following is an excerpt
from the citation signed by Ad-
miral Dunn:
"The crew of the 11.S. Naval
Station, Keflavik is congratula-
ted for this fine accomplishment.
They should take pride in such
outstanding performance and in
their contribution to the readi-
ness of the Naval Air Force. . .
Well done to all hands."
