FYI CFor your information] PTO Meeting The NATO Base Parent-Teach- er's Organization (PTO) will hold an open meeting at 7:30 p.m. on February 19. The purpose of the meeting is to conduct a panel discussion on the topic: Our Schools; What Par- ents Expect. Panelists will include the Naval Station commanding offic- er, the elementary and high school principals and the PTO president. Additional informa- tion about the meeting can be obtained from Mike Crognale at 4277. EM&L restrictions Personnel and/or dependents with any type of communicable disease are not authorized for travel aboard Environmental Morale and Leave aircraft due to World Health Organization Restrictions. Communicable di- seases include most childhood diseases such as measles, mumps, chicken pox, conjunctivitis (pink eye), skin diseases, and influenza, in additional to more serious medical problems. If you or your dependents have any symptoms, contact medical the day prior to a flight and ob- tain a certificate of good health signed by a medical doctor. Crispus Attacks Boston Massacre 1770 February - Black History Month March exam info It's time for advancement exams once again. The March 1985 Navy-wide examination for advancement to paygrades E-4, E-5 and E-6 will be held in the galley between 7 and 11 a.m. The E-4 exam will be on March 5, the E-5 exam on March 7 and the E-6 exam on March 12. Re- quirements for the exam and re- commendations must be in to PSD by the close of business on Feb- ruary 15. If questions arise, please contact PN1 Veselka at 4423. Twilight tour changes Beginning November 1, person- nel will not become eligible for a shore twilight tour until their 28th year in the Navy. Exceptions will be made for those people requesting assign- ment in a DOD overseas tour assignment. This change permits a two-year shore twilight tour instead of the present three- year tour. The new policy will not apply to personnel who sub- mit requests for twilight as- signment dated before November 1. The change will improve sea duty manning of senior enlisted personnel and fleet readiness. PTO Toy and Book sale The A.T. Mahan Elemem.u.y School Parent-Teacher Organiza- tion is having a Used Book and Toy Sale (for "kids" of all ages) on Saturday, February 23 from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. in the multi-purpose room at the elementary school. Donations are needed! The PTO is looking for books, toys, games, comics, puzzles and computer brochures - in good, clean condition. The drop-off point for all items is the elementary school main of- fice any time during school hours. If you are interested in helping, please contact June Fraim at 4452 or Anne Gwinn at 7867. Proceeds from the Book and Toy Fair will purchase much- needed computer software for use by all students in grades 2-6.
