On the NATO Base, the first School Advisory Committee (SAC) sponsored workshop will be held next week. The workshop, held as an adjunct to the monthly SAC meeting, will be held at 7:30 p.m. on Feb- ruary 21 in the Upper School multi-purpose room. This workshop is particularly targeted at the par- ents of 9th, 10th, 11th and 12th grade students. Parents of younger students are welcome. The purpose of the workshop is two-fold: to familiarize parents of college bound and poten- tially college bound students with the timing and mechanics of college admissions in general and to make them aware of financial assistance available to all students as well as assistance especially designed for sons and daughters of military fam- ilies. A general introduction to the whole process of choosing a college, applying to a college and how colleges - in general - admit students, will be provided. For the younger student, discussion will center on course selections and options. Provided for the older levels - as well as the younger - will be a calendar of what should be done each year as they look ahead to college: when is the time to start to investigate colleges; to take admission tests and to get your applica- tion in.
