Child Care Center
is growing
Women from the Gardasel Child Care Center in Kef-
lavik recently visited the CCC here.
Employees at the Naval base Child Care Center
(CCC) have recently received 40 hours of orien-
tation training.
The training involved areas in child develop-
ment, first aid, CPR, food handling, safety and
diseases, according to Linda Delaney, CCC direc-
tor.
The employees at the CCC have also gone to the
Gardasel CCC in Keflavik. They exchange ideas
with the Icelandic employees and observe the dif-
ferences in the base CCC from the one in Keflavik.
"It's good for us as a CCC to interact with the
CCC off base.
"They use a lot of music with the children and
they have more of a family atmosphere," said Mrs.
Delaney. She also stated that the Keflavik CCC
has a lot less children than the one on base.
Olafia Olafsdottir, an employee at the Gardasel
CCC said, "We give the base CCC our ideas and in
return they give us theirs."
The base CCC is going to continue their train-
ing, and they plan to continue exchanging ideas
with the Gardasel CCC.
