Public Works Department bestows awards
by J02 Kerry Honore
“Congratulations for a job well done,"
stated Commander William H. Gwinn,
Executive Officer of NAS, Keflavik, to
Public Works Department employees
Cynthia Hallett, Lawrence M. Moss and
Bianca Nakovics.
For Hallett and Nakovics the congrat-
ulations were more than just a hand
shake, both women received a Superior
Performance Award for the amount of
$500 or more. Hallett received the award
for her "sound judgment in making deci-
sions that have brought about the reso-
lution of problems while working as the
Housing Project Assistant." Nakovics re-
ceived her award for her "knowledge of
office procedures and dedication to
complete complex tasks assigned to her
while working in the Public Works'
Secretary group." The award was estab-
lished for personnel who won't be
stationed here long enough to receive a
pay increase. To be eligible for this
award workers must complete 52 weeks
of employment and be nominated for the
award by their supervisor .
Moss received the Quality Step
Increase from Cmdr. Gwinn, which will
increase his pay by $500 or more a year.
Moss was also praised for his unique
manner of problem solving and superior
professional skills.
