making the basket,
off came the

4557th Supply team took first
place with 7:23:95, followed
by the Hospital with 8:21:90
and the 57th FIS with 8:57:47.
Once the final points were tallied,
the 4557th Supply and 57th FIS were
the top two teams. But the victor
would be decided by the tug-of-war.
The two teams each made a valiant
effort, but the gold went to the 4557th

back. The 57th FIS set the pace with a time of
1:04:81. Second and third place went to CFK
and PSD, with times of 1:05:50 and 1:15:58
respectively.
The second event, the two-mile relay, was
held Saturday morning in weather that had the
prospective runners voicing their disapproval.
Each member of the four-man teams had to run
a half-mile. Since the object of Cabin Fever
Olympics is to have fun, an open can of
racquetballs was used as the baton and runners
had to keep the balls from falling out without
covering the top with their hands. The 4557th
Supply squad proved to be the best at this
event, with the 57th FIS and AIMD taking
second and third place.
The strong, the not-so-strong, and those
wondering why they were, there turned out for
the bench press competition held Saturday.
Each four-man team grunted, groaned and
grimaced in an attempt to lift the best percent-
age of the team’s total body weight. The
strongmen from 4557th Supply took their
second first-place victory, followed closely by
the 57th FIS and Hospital.
The three-man volleyball tournament began
Saturday and when the finals ended on
Sunday, the AFI team had taken first place,
with ROICC in second and AIMD in third.
The last two Olympic events, the obstacle
course and the tug-of-war, were held Sunday.
In the obstacle course, each six man team had
to step in six tires, crawl through a tunnel
made by a gym
mat and run across
Competition was fierce during the weekend
as 12 teams splashed, ran, lifted, pulled and
wiggled their way through the gym’s annual
Cabin Fever Olympics. The teams competed in
a raft race, 2-mile relay, bench press, three-
man volleyball tournament, obstacle course
and a tug-of-war.
The 4557th Supply finished in first place
overall, edging out the 57th Fighter Interceptor
Squadron (FIS) which finished in a close
second. Third place ended up in a tie between
the Hospital and Aircraft Intermediate Mainte-
nance Department (AIMD).
The raft race, which took place last Friday,
was the first event on the Olympic agenda.
Each six-person team was divided in half, with
two people pulling a rider one way and the
