Then ca fun part.! a diving ma flippers and a pair of large rubber gloves, each team member had to shoot a basket from the three- point mark within 60 seconds. If the time elapsed, they could shoot from anywhere. After making the basket, off came the diving gear and they began a mad dash to tag-off the next person. Once again, the 4557th Supply team took first place with 7:23:95, followed by the Hospital with 8:21:90 and the 57th FIS with 8:57:47. Once the final points were tallied, the 4557th Supply and 57th FIS were the top two teams. But the victor would be decided by the tug-of-war. The two teams each made a valiant effort, but the gold went to the 4557th Supply team when the^nroved to b^_ the stronger team. After all was saic^^^Hne, PSi V claimed fourth place^^rlook fifti^® place; ROICC finished sixth; AFI captured seventh; Air OPS clinched eighth; Dental took ninth; Weapons finished 10th; and CFK finished 11th. Second and third place went to CFK and PSD, with times of 1:05:50 and 1:15:58 respectively. The second event, the two-mile relay, was held Saturday morning in weather that had the prospective runners voicing their disapproval. Each member of the four-man teams had to run a half-mile. Since the object of Cabin Fever Olympics is to have fun, an open can of racquetballs was used as the baton and runners had to keep the balls from falling out without covering the top with their hands. The 4557th Supply squad proved to be the best at this event, with the 57th FIS and AIMD taking second and third place. The strong, the not-so-strong, and those wondering why they were, there turned out for the bench press competition held Saturday. Each four-man team grunted, groaned and grimaced in an attempt to lift the best percent- age of the team’s total body weight. The strongmen from 4557th Supply took their second first-place victory, followed closely by the 57th FIS and Hospital. The three-man volleyball tournament began Saturday and when the finals ended on Sunday, the AFI team had taken first place, with ROICC in second and AIMD in third. The last two Olympic events, the obstacle course and the tug-of-war, were held Sunday. In the obstacle course, each six man team had to step in six tires, crawl through a tunnel made by a gym mat and run across Competition was fierce during the weekend as 12 teams splashed, ran, lifted, pulled and wiggled their way through the gym’s annual Cabin Fever Olympics. The teams competed in a raft race, 2-mile relay, bench press, three- man volleyball tournament, obstacle course and a tug-of-war. The 4557th Supply finished in first place overall, edging out the 57th Fighter Interceptor Squadron (FIS) which finished in a close second. Third place ended up in a tie between the Hospital and Aircraft Intermediate Mainte- nance Department (AIMD). The raft race, which took place last Friday, was the first event on the Olympic agenda.
