NAVFAC, AIMD, PWD victorious in Monday’s volleyball actio
The coed “A” and men’s “B” leagues took
part in volleyball action Monday night with a
total of three games being played.
The first game of the evening featured the
coed league’s NAVFAC and Hospital teams.
NAVFAC routed the Hospital, holding them
to a total of 12 points for the evening.
NAVFAC stomped the Hospital 15-4 the
first game and took the second game 15-8.
The second coed game of the night pitted
the 4557th SPS against AIMD in the only
match of the night to go to a tiebreaker. Both
teams played good, hard volleyball with a
maximum of two points separating the winner
from the loser in any of the games.
The 4557th SPS took the first game 13-11
but a determined AIMD squad retalliated by
taking the second game by the same score.
The final match saw the AIMD squad come
out on top as they defeated the 4557th SPS 17-
16.
PWD and ROICC/EOD played the only
men’s “B” league game of the night, with
PWD claiming the victory.
PWD took the first game, beating their
opponents 11-9. Bolstered by confidence,
PWD beat ROICC/EOD by an even better
margin of 15-7.
A total of 42 teams are participating this
season in the men’s “A” and “B” leagues,
women’s league and coed “A” and “B ” leagues.
Volleyball games are played Monday
through Friday at 7, 8 and 9 p.m. and Satur-
days at noon, 1, 2, 3,4 and 5 p.m.

Rick Kopp earns Bowler of the Week honors two weeks in a row

Intramural League Coordinator
Rick Kopp bowled a 235 in North Atlantic League action last
Monday night en route to a 588 series to capture Bowler of the Week
honors. Rick outbowled teammates Louis Espinoza, who tossed a 200
for nice 581 series, and Jim Morrison, who rolled a 517.
In other North Atlantic League action, Don Church rolled a 212 for
a 595 series; Kurt Scholl bowled a 201 for a 527 series; and Dudley
Anderson threw a 555 series.
In American League action, B.T. Morris rolled a 204 on his way to
a 535 series; and Leroy Thompson bowled a 577 series.
Tickets for the 1989/1990 bowling banquet will be available as soon
as they are received from the print shop. League secretaries are the
point of contact or you can call me at 4378. Come support the winners
and remember at this banquet there will be no losers.

The banquet will be held May 4, with cocktails beginning at 6 p.m.
and dinner starting at 7 p.m.
Tickets will cost $5 per person and will include a steamship round
buffet. A special guest speaker will appear and dancing will follow the
banquet. A virtual plethora of door prizes will be awarded.
