The A. T. Mahan Elementary School

The hospital is sponsoring a Health Care
Consumer Council meeting Wednesday at 7
p.m. at Andrews Theater. Each command is
asked to send a representative. The meeting

The passenger service counter will only be
open from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. Wednesday

Officers’ Wives Club Christmas ball tick-
ets are on sale. Open to officers and their

The Keflavfk Youth Athletic Association
is looking for indoor soccer officials. The
season runs through Dec. 8. The organiza-
tion also needs volunteers to hold offices.

The Child Care Advisory Committee will

The 29th annual Christmas Party for the
first grade children in Grindavfk will be held

Studded snow tires can now be installed on
any vehicle. They must be removed no later
than April 15, 1991, according to Icelandic
law.
Prenatal exercise classes are held every
Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 1:30
pm in the base gym. All new and expectant
mothers are invited. The classes are free of
charge. Stop by and enjoy the fun!
The Keflavfk Coin Club will hold a
meeting Sunday at 3 p.m. in the second deck
lounge of BEQ 744.
The Hispanic American Society will hold
an induction party Nov. 24 at 8 p.m. in the
Community Center. It’s open to all club
members and to any NATO Base resident
interested in participating in their, celebra-
tion. Please bring a dish or dessert.
Family Service Center
Spouse Employment Assistance Program
(SEAP). The spouse employment coordina-
tor will inform you of the various base em-
ployment locations, how to fill out job
applications, and the current job climate.
This program is open to all base community
residents who desire employment and need
to know where to start. It takes place every
Thursday from 9 to 10 a.m.

Christmas shopping in Iceland is the topic
of a seminar being offered Nov. 28 from
noon until 1 p.m. This workshop will inform
you about holiday shopping in Reykjavik
and surrounding areas.
The SF 171 workshop will be held Nov. 28
from 7 to 9 p.m. If you have decided to join
the community work force, but don’t know
where to start the employment process, this
workshop is for you.
Sponsor training will be held Nov. 29 from
9 a. m. to noon. Arrangements to attend
must be made through your training officer.
How to talk so kids will listen and listen
so kids will talk. Learn new ways to com-
municate with your children by producing
positive feedback. This six-part, structured
workshop will use illustrated workbooks
and homework assignments. The program
presenter, an FSC counselor, will help you
practice new skills, to leant new patterns
and unlearn old ones. To achieve a better
understanding of parent/child communica-
tion, join the group for part four Tuesday
from 6:30 to 8 p.m. This workshop will
continue for two more consecutive Tues-
days.
The Single Parents Group meets Tuesday
from noon to 1 p.m.
All classes are held at the FSC unless
otherwise indicated. Fewer than five
registrations may result in a workshop

5:45 p.m. and Sunday at 3:15 p.m.
The USO needs your help to provide food
and services for the holiday season. They
need turkeys, canned green beans, com and
desserts for the single/unaccompanied
Thanksgiving meal, as well as volunteers to
help cook and serve for Christmas. The
USO also needs donations of wrapping
paper, bows, tags, markers and miscellane-
ous art supplies and volunteers to help with
the many Christmas programs they have
planned.
During the holiday season the USO will
provide a program to unite single/unaccom-
panied individuals with on-base families
willing to share the season’s cheer and
blessings. Call 6113 if you wish to partici-
pate as a family or individual in this
Thanksgiving/Christmas program.

University of Maryland students desiring
to sell used text books to other students are
encouraged to call 4408 or drop by the
UMD office. Books of particular interest
this term are: ENGL 101, GNSC 160,
AFSM 201, MATH 100 and SPCH 107.
Students wishing to enroll in ENGL 101 or
any math course (CCC or UMD) are
required to take a placement test in order to
receive tuition assistance. Testing is
recommended for all students. The tests will
be administered from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30
p.m. Wednesday and Friday at the Navy/Air
Force Education Center, Bldg. 349. For
