Military review defines new strategy By J02 Carlos Bongioanni In a time of continued down sizing and force restructuring, many in the military are wonder- ing about the future role of the aimed forces. On Sept. 1, Secretary of De- fense Les Asp in and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff General Colin Powell gave some insight when they released the results of the Bottom-Up Review (BUR). The BUR took seven months to complete and was a compre- hensive study examining the purpose and scope of the U. S. military in a post Cold War era.
