Public Transport
The only public transport available in Reykjavík is the bus. Most buses run every 20–30 min (the wait may be longer on
weekends), price per fare is 420 ISK adults, 210 ISK
children. Multiday passes are available at select lo-
cations and through their app. Route map at: www.
bus.is. Tel: 540 2700. Buses run from 07–24:00 on
weekdays and 10–24:00 on weekends. Main termi-
nals are: Hlemmur and Lækjartorg.
Opening Hours
Bars and clubs: According to regula-tions, bars can stay open until 01:00 on weekdays and 04:30 on weekends.
Shops: Mon–Fri 10:00–18:00, Sat 10:00–16:00, Sun closed. Kringlan and Smáralind malls and most supermar-
kets and tourist shops have longer opening hours.
Banks in the centre are open Mon-Fri 09:00-
16:00

A classic American style diner lies at the back
of the pin-up clad bar on Laugavegur, boasting
a short menu of quick and tasty bowling alley
burgers named for The Dude (or His Dudeness
or El Duderino if you’re not into the whole brev-
ity thing). It’s a great place to chow down with
a beer, but that could just be, like, our opinion
man.

Located in the achingly trendy Grandi area,
Matur og Drykkur ("Food and Drink") focuses
on delivering old Icelandic recipes in a fresh
manner. Think less touristy treats like pickled
shark, and more authentic Icelandic food like
