AN INTRODUCTION:

Autumn doesn’t really exist in Iceland.
Or, at least, it feels more like a fleeting
autumnal moment before the trees
promptly dump their load and resume
their skinny, skeletal winter existence.
And yet, here we are, hanging out in the
introduction to the Autumn issue of
our Best of Reykjavík magazine. Come
on in! Make yourself at home!
There have been some interesting
new arrivals in the city since we con-
vened our various panels of experts
back in January to deliberate on all the
best stuff that Reykjavík has to offer.
The Icelandic craft beer revolution
has continued to gather steam, with
more microbreweries coming out of
the woodwork; you can read about the
places to sample their wares on page
30. After a period of relative stasis, the
downtown bar scene also got a jolt of
new energy with the arrival of no less
than five new drinking holes (p. 30, 32).
You can also find guides to Ice-
landic chocolatiers (p. 22), fash-
ion boutiques (p. 40), photography
museums (p. 46), and pick up some
tips from locals (p. 44) whilst leafing
through the various awards.
