What a great fun day everybody had on Friday, August
4, at the Icelandic Open. This is one of the main
fundraisers of the paper and putting on a tournament is
a lot of hard work. I would like to thank my great golf committee
who worked many long hours not only at the tournament but
calling sponsors and golfers to attend. Also, thanks to the
wonderful staff and volunteers of Lögberg-Heimskringla who
helped with so much for this tournament.
I really hope all the golfers had a great time and, even though
there are many familiar faces year after year, we always have
room for a few more teams. So mark your calendars for next
year and join us on the golf course on Friday, August 3, 2018.
I’d like to offer a huge thanks to all the sponsors, especially
to our main sponsor, Dr. Ken Thorlakson. I really hope that
when readers see the sponsor list, they support the sponsors. See
the list of sponsors in the August 15th issue.
This is a fun day that’s filled with lots of laughs and great
companionship – and even some Icelandic treats. I’m looking
