Schott (1834) 9. Scattered, in lava fissures. Herdísarvíkurhraun (St. Stefánsson); Hafnarfjörður (Davíðsson); Kapelluhraun, 10 m; Járngerðarstaðir (Bj. Sæmundsson); Cape Reykjanes (Ostenfeld); Grinda- vík (Ingólfur Davíðsson). 20. Dryopteris Linnaeana (L.) C. Chr. (1905) 275. 10—280 m. Not common; in lava fissures or in Empetreto-Vaccinietum. Lava field near Þordarfell (Ostcnfeld); Járngerðarstaðir (Bjarni Sæmundsson), Herdísarvík, 10 m; Snókafell, 125 m; Almenningur, 105 m; Ketill, 240 m; southern hillside of the Central Highland, 50 m; between Helgafell and Búrfell, 120 m; Breiðdalur, 240 m; Western Plateau near the cote 310 m (280 m)! Núphlíð (Ingólfur Davíðsson). 21. Dryopteris Phegopteris (L.) C. Chr. (1905) 284. 30—190—(450 m). Scattered, in lava fissures. Skúlatúnshraun and Helgafell (Thoroddsen), Hafnarfjörður (Grönlund); Ka- pelluhraun (S. O. F. Omang), Gullkistugjá, 20 m; Straumsvík, 30 m; Engidals- kvísl, 196 m; Brennisteinsfjöll, 450 m, in a lava fissure warmed by tepid dampness. 22. Polypodium vulgare L. Sp. pl. (1753) 1085. —120 m.
