Here and there on the strand, daily for a Ionger or shorter period, up till ten hours, submerged by the tide. Always in great amounts. Ósar, Hvaleyri, Grindavík, Merkines, Vogavík. J 6. Sesleria calcaria Opiz var. Hadacii Deyl (1947) 176—177. 30—240 m. Very rare. On the loess, in dry places, with Kobresia myosuroides, Festuca vivipara, Dryas octopetala etc. On Iceland only known from some few places (see map in Gröntved 1942, 151). The variety was described by Deyl from the material from Hafnarfjörður. The nearest allied form occurs in Scotland. Icelandic occurrence has a relic character.
