Akranes has good facilities for swimming at the town’s sports center Jaðarsbakkar, includ-
ing a 25-m outdoor swimming pool, waterslide, five hot tubs and a steam bath. The warm
and relaxing water comes from Europe’s most powerful hot spring Deildartunguhver.

a 12.5x8-m indoor pool. A fitness center is also on the premises.
