Mountaineers of Iceland offers a range of day tours for groups from
Reykjavík, specializing in exciting adventure tours at Langjökull glacier,
in the highlands of Iceland. We are a family-owned company with a
passion for adventure and we have extensive experience of tours on
and around Langjökull, where we have an operation site.
Thanks to our brilliant glacier professionals, we’ve created special,
new, glacier trucks. Fitted to the highest standards, these are the most
unique and powerful glacier trucks around. They’re big and butch and
totally robust, so whatever the terrain or weather, you’re in safe hands.
On the inside are extra little features to make you smile. Well, who
doesn’t want to travel in the lap of luxury on a glacier? It’s colorful
and cozy with bright curtains, there’s air conditioning, seat belts and
reclining seats.
We’re a flexible bunch at Mountaineers of Iceland and can be hired
from different collection points. We can meet you fresh from your flight
at the airport, at Langjökull glacier, or at the nature reserve in Þórsmörk.
SNOWMOBILES
Want to get your James Bond fix? Getting onto the open ice is a thrilling
and exhilarating experience. Our snowmobile tours on the east and
west side of Langjökull explore different parts of the glacier, dependent
on weather. In the summer, the snowmobiles are located on the west
side of the glacier.
Got a driver’s license? You can drive a snow mobile solo and
embrace your inner child. Or, if you want to share this incredible adven-
ture with someone special, you can sit on the back—meaning you can
really take in the jaw-dropping views.
Our two-seater snowmobiles have everything you need for comfort
and safety. With hand warmers and a high windshield to help keep
you toasty, we have all the gear, including overalls, helmets, boots and
gloves.
Eleven percent of Iceland is covered in glaciers. They’re magical places
