THE NATIONAL LEAGUE
HONORS MEMBERS
Two members of the (Icelandic)
National League of North America
were presented with Honorary Life
Memberships at the annual convention
of the League, in January, 1973:
Professor Haraldur Bessason, Chair-
man of the Department of Icelandic
at the University of Manitoba, and
Mrs. Holmfridur Danielson. Professor
Bessason has distinguished himself
in the development of Icelandic
studies at the University, and Mrs.
Danielson is a long-time active mem-
ber of the League, having been on the
executive for seventeen years and sec-
retary for twelve years. She lias also for
many years past performed notable
service as adjudicator at drama fest-
ivals in Manitoba.
The following were made life mem-
bers of the League: J. T. Beck, Paul
Hallson, and Jon Palsson.

the annual convention of the Nation-
al League, last January:—
