FAMILY! funeral COUNSELLORS BILLBOARD 3la>kttfrtc National league 1994 is a memorable year for Icelandic people everywhere: it marks the 50th year of Icelandic independence. In addition, the INL celebrates its 75th Annual Convention, this year in Selkirk, Manitoba. The Convention, indeed the INL itself, is crucial to the survival of the fabric of the Icelandic community in these disparate times. INL has developed programs to weave our communal strands into something stronger, more flexible to sustain our cultural identity as Icelanders in other homelands. Why become a member of the INL? ‘The old order yieldeth, making way for a new,” as Tennyson said, signifying the passing on of generations. As each Icelandic generation succeeds the other, the spark of what it means to be Icelandic is passed on. Through the INL, you become part of the process, forming relations with other generations, with other Icelanders in conveying the uniqueness of what it means to be Icelandic. Icelandic National League membership is available to organi- zations and individuals.
