He was accompanied on the piano by Rosalind Vigfusson. Mr. Gislason’s excellent translation of “íslendingafljót” will appear in the Festival issue of Lögherg- Heimskringla this summer. Arborg has a women’s quintet called “Just Harmony” made up of five musical women who all (but one) trace their ancestiy to Iceland. They entertained with a few, rnost interest- ing numbers, in Icelandic and English, accompanied by Colleen Kilbrei. A favourite of mine was “Ég vona að hann hangi þurr.” The evening now warmed up to the music of the 4-D’s band and visit- ing of family, friends and acquain- tances. I must say the Arborg Þorrablót lived up to expectation. —G.l. Above: Álfheiður Björnsdóttir; below: Gladys and David Gislason. Photos: Linda Johanns
