Letters to ttso editor
Iam enclosing a cheque
for $79.80 for a 2 year
renewal. If I don’t live
that long, you can send the
rest to my granddaughter,
Dawn Rothwell. You are
doing very well, the paper is
good. Of course I miss the
obituaries very much and I’m
sure others do also. I have
indexed many many years of

Lögberg obituaries and they
are very necessary when
doing genealogy.
I really miss Thorgeirson’s
Almanacs that quit in 1954. I
am glad the INL is doing so
well and that you let us know
what we are doing. I feel that
Kevin Johnson is a very good
addition to your staff.
I am ijot including a dona-
tion but I do buy subscrip-
tions for other people and
share one to Iceland, but the
paper is useless to my cousins
in Iceland who do not read
English. The younger genera-
tion appreciates it. The chil-
dren’s corner is good,
Gunnur Isfeld knows what is
good. That’s all now.
Sincerely,
Dora Sigurdson

As a second generation
Icelandic-Canadian
living in Ontario I
often find there is not much
of interest to me in the
Lögberg. However I realize
that your support is mainly in
Manitoba from business and
the number of Western
Icelanders who live there. I
have visited Iceland and
Gimli and found both very
interesting. Also the fact my
great-grandfather Páll Snæ-
björnsson, when writing to
his daughters, Sigurbjörg and
Ingibjörg mentioned reading
some news in the Lögberg
makes me feel ‘connected’ to
Icelanders and I suppose is
my reason to continue to read
- subscribe to the Lögberg.

Enjoy getting the news
from Canada and Ice-
land. I have been to
Iceland three times and have
wonderful memories. I dis-
covered I have a cousin in
Akureyri and visited them in
1994. Went with the tour
from Winnipeg. It was fun.
My parents were born in
Iceland — mother in
Akureyri and dad in
Reykj"avík. We have an
Icelandic association here in
Chicago. Had a Þorrablót in
Febmary.

FAMILYl FUNERAL
COUNSELLORS
printing our foster mother
Ragnhildur Guttormsson’s
story in Lögberg-Heims-
kringla. She would have been
so very happy and proud to at
last see “Grímkell” edited so
well by Kirsten Wolf who
went to great lengths to make
this happen. We both are very
proud of our Mother, whose
greatest dream was to have
the story published.
We read your editor’s arti-
cle about “Grímkell” in the
paper, in which you said you
think it is a good story
because of its historical value.
Sincerely,

The paper continues to
improve. I would like
more short items of
happenings in Iceland and
also more from the U.S.A.
The articles are always inter-
esting. Keep up the good
work!
