Arts Sunday 5 September Edison, NJ: At ScanFest 2004, held at the New Jersey Convention and Exposition Cen- ter at the Raritan Center, see John Welsh’s photographs of lceland, taken during six visits over two years, in his exhibit “lceland: Another Look.” He will give presentations at 12:15 and 4:15 p.m. on travelling and photographing lce- land. September 21 - November 13 New York, NY: The exhibition “Louisa Matthíasdóttir: A Retrospective" presents approximately 95 works, including oil paint- ings, miniatures, works on paper, and fabric patterns, spanning the the long career of one of lceland’s most internationally renowned artists. The first retrospective of Matthíasdót- tir’s work on this scale, the exhibition indudes many works that have never been exhibited. Organized by The American-Scandinavian Foundation in cooperation with the family of Louisa Matthiasdottir, the exhibition indudes paintings from museums and private collec- tions in the U.S. and abroad. The exhibit also highlights the recent agreement between Manitoba and lceland to work cooperatively on the development of hydrogen energy.
