Atlanta, GA: Eleventh Annual Scandina-
vian Festival Oglethorpe University, 4484
Peachtree Rd. N.E. from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
The Festival features live music and en-
tertainment from the five Nordic coun-
tries—Denmark, Finland, lceland, Norway
and Sweden. Other festivities include an
Viking encampment; wandering trolls;
Scandinavian food; a Scandinavian design
fashion show; storytelling; children’s games;
arts and crafts; genealogy; raffle; a soccer
game; a vendors’ market offering hard-to-
find Scandinavian products; live reindeer
for children to pet; and the first Atlanta ap-
pearance of the world’s most famous Finn,
Santa Claus.

Winnipeg, MB: Ram Wools presents a “Fin-
ishing Workshop” 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., with
instructors Lorna and Barb. Learn the tech-
niques necessary for finishing your handknit
garment. Basic finishing techniques include
assembling your garment, sewing shoulder
seams and blocking. The second week the
focus will be on a variety of pockets, buttons

seum presents “Medieval Quilts,” An exhibit
of original art quilts inspired by Medieval il-
luminated manuscripts. Quilt artist: Heath-
er Lair. The exhibit will include a “hands on”
loom where visitors can try this ancient and
practical art. Fall and winter hours: Monday
to Friday — 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturdays and
