Public Works-1 Team of the National League continues
to be the leader of all the Intramural Leagues with a 20
to 4 won and lost record. Air Maint-1 and VP-21 main-
tained their close leads in the American and International
Leagues respectively.

High scores posted by American
Leaguers were Sullivan and Wells,
AMD-1, at 200-556 and 538. Cal-
listo, NSC-1, bowled a 217-548 and
was assisted by Nadolski at 540.
Neilson, Medics and Rogers, OMD,
posted scores of 206-548 and 551.
Other highs were recorded by
Dorsey, Supply-2, 534, Coleman
and Taylor, Admin-1, 525 and
531.
Over in the National League,
Martin, Public Works-1, had a pin
fall of 551 while Ralph tallied a
524. Two bowlers of the Opera-
tions Team,Sullivan and Vitale,
hit the pins for scores of 207-543
and 208-549.
Admin-2 of the International
League led the league with scores
as 500 series were rolled by Fulle-
cido, 2271542; Chong 540; and
Cunanan, 219-530. Anspaugh,
AFI-2, hit his first 500 at 202-
517. Another first 500 was bowled
by Laughlin, 57th FIS-3, with a
519, while Widell and Reed, VP-
21, posted 522 and 524.
Admin./Sec Netmen Undefeated;
57th Knights Hold Second Slot
Admin/Sec remained the only unbeaten team after three weeks in the Intramural
Basketball League with a record of five vic-tories and no losses. The 57th FIS team is
close on their heels with four wins and one one defeat.
The first game of Oct. 4 matched Admin/Sec against the Marine Barracks in a battle
for first place. The game went right down to the wire with Bogoyevac tossing in the
winning basket with only seconds left. Skally was high for Admin with 20 points while
Sterling tossed in 15 for the Marines.
Weapons roared from behind in
in the second half to nip the High
School 56 to 51 in the second
game. Led by Hill who scored 22
points in the second, they came
from a 31 to 23 deficit at half-
time to win. Hill ended up with
28 points and Rogers pumped in
24 for the High School.
Operations overwhelmed Public
Works in the final game of the
evening 89 to 53. For operations,
Sievert had 35, Roberts dropped
in 22 and Setaro added 21 points
to account for all but 11 of their
team’s points. Wolcott had 13 for
Public Works.
Jeter With 23 Points
NavSecGru won a nip and tuck
battle from NavCommSta 71 to 64
in the first game of Oct. 5.
Crowder and Capaidi led a sec-
ond half attack for NavSecGru
with 16 points each to help them
recover from NavCommSta’s 34 to
31 halftime lead. Jeter was high
man for the losers with 23 and
Loomer added 19.
Stanford with 25 points spark-
ed Supply to a 54 to 40 win over
OMD in the second game. Only
three players got in the scoring
column for OMD with Armstrong
leading the way with 23.
IDF held off a late challenge
by IKF to hand the Icelandics
their fourth straight defeat 42 to
39. Fiddi of IKF led all scores
with while Carlson of IDF man-
aged 15.
57th Powerhouse
The 57th FIS kept rolling along
in the first game of Oct. 6 knock-
ing off Medical 77 to 49. Webster
led a balanced attack for the 57th
with 22 points while Szydlo had
15 for Medical The only defeat
sustained by the flyboys so far
this year was a forfeit to Admin/
Sec and this could hurt in the
final tally.
Down 24 to 21 at halftime,
Operations crushed a cold shoot-
ing Rockville team 53 to 36 in the
second game of the evening. Rog-
ers led the winners with 22 and
Setaro added 12 in his final per-
formance for Operations before
leaving for another duty station.
Perez pumped in 14 points for
Rockville.
Marines Battle Back
The final game saw a deter-
mined Marine team bounce back
for a 75 to 72 overtime victory
after being down 38 to 24 at half-
time. Gleyes and Clingan led the
Marines with 21 and 19 points
respectively while Gaffney gun-
ned in 22 for AFI.
VP-21 led all the way to knock
off IDF 65 to 50 in the opener
of Oct. 7. Weatherington had 21
for VP-21 but Carlson of IDF
was the game high scorer with 23.
The High school tasted the
fruits of victory for the first
time this season turning back
NavCommSta 49 to 34 in the sec-
ond game of the night. Rogers of
the High School led all scores
with 13 points.

Admin Wins Fifth
Admin/Sec won their fifth
straight wearing down Public
Works 67 to 43 in the finale.
Ringan of Admin led all scorers
with 24 and Wolcott poured
through 16 for Public Works.
The 57th FIS blasted NavSec-
Gru 72 to 59 in the first game of
Oct. 8 to stay right on Admin’s
tail in the race for first place.
With almost everyone in the line-
up scoring, 16 points by Webster
was high for the winners. For
NavSecGru, Crowder had 21 and
Richards added 20.
Operations, feeling the loss of
Setaro’s scoring punch, dropped
the second game to OMD 51 to
44. Armstrong with 22 and Lac-
ross with 18 led OMD while Sie-
vert gunned in 17 for Operations.
The final game of the week saw
an improving Supply team down
IKF 80 to 46. Richards pumped
in 20 for the winners while Friddi
led IKF with 16. Supply now has
a 4 and 2 record and are only a
game and one-half out of first
place.
Emmert, Neal Hit 1203 Pins,
Set Scratch-League ‘High’

John Emmert and Clint Neal shot a fantastic 1203 series
as they swept 17 points from Mod Fullecido and Neal
Taylor. Neal had a 606 including a 249 game and Emmert
just missed the magic 600 circle with a 597. Taylor had a
557 but he and his partner were only able to pick up 2
points. Emmert and Neal are only 4 points out of first
place now.
Elton Dorsey’s 528 and Clate -.
Torbeck with a 514 could not stop
Marty Carr and Bob Vargo who
took 7 points from the league
leaders. Carr shot a 544 and Vargo
helped with a 504 as they held
their opponents to only 5 points.
Dave Nadolski continued his
steady rolling with a 576 and
partner Bill Berger chipped in
with a 527 to take 10 points while
only losing 3 to Tom Hockett and
Joe Ralph. Last year’s league
champs improved with Hockett
tossing a 545 and Ralph turning
in a 505.
Hunt And Rogers
Ed Hunt with a 541 and Tim
Rogers who socked a 528 picked
up 7 against Larry Becker and
Fred Boll who garnered 5 points
for their team.
Clint Neal’s 249 set a new high
game for the season and he and
partner John Emmert set a team
game record with a 456 as well
as the series record of 1203.
New League
A new league will be formed in
early December and anyone with
a 165 average or better wishing
to join should call Clate Torbeck
at 4125 or Bob Vargo at 3112
during working hours for infor-
mation.

The Youth Center Bowling Lea-
gues began their winter season
this past week The seventh and
twelfth grades have named their
league the Pin Droppers.
Leading the girls was Cindy
Hoffman with a 117 average, a
266 series was taken by Linda
Hoffman and a 114 game was
rolled by Cynthia Smith.
In the boys’ department, a 127
average high was bowled by Har-
vey Royalty. Vance IPierre rolled
the high series of 268, followed
by Lyndon Whitmer with a 141
high game. Team Six is the first
place team and Team Three is in
the second slot.
Spillman Rolls 155
The fifth and sixth grades, had
Teams Four and One tied for the
first place honors. Andrea Conkey
lead the girls off with a 98 aver-
age, while Dana Spillman had
the high series of 155. Ram Webb
rolled the high game of 75.
The boys had Randy Hoffman
holding the average high of 117.
Neal Olmstead carried the high
series of 209, with Mike Babneau
rolling a 116 game. In both these
leagues, two games are bowled.
Tagalongs Hold First
With this week the last week
for the Tuesday Womens’ League
to bowl, the first three spots are
real close together and it could
change the standings.
The Tagalongs are in first by
four games over the Pink Pant-
hers. The highs for the week were
taken by Annette Babneau with
a 208/470.
