Easter weekend in Ísafjörður has become the place to be thanks to Mugison and
his father, who dreamt up the free music festival, “I Never Went South” (“Aldrei Fór
Ég Suður”) over some drinks back in 2003. The idea was to get local acts from the
Westfjords to perform with support from a big name Icelandic artist. When they ran
into Björk and told her about their idea, she told them that they were cutie pies,
and they thought she was in, but they are still waiting for her to perform. But it’s
not about the big names anyways. So go enjoy a weekend of debauchery in this
musically inclined town and you may just discover some new awesome acts! More
