Snakes On A Japanese Plane
Just Another Snake Cult / kimono
Local indie pop outfit Just Another Snake Cult were formed in
2010 by one Þórir Bogason. Þórir writes and records the music by
himself, but gets all sorts of interesting folks to perform with him
on stage, making for some pretty great shows. The Snake Cult's
music is dreamy and lucidly upbeat, firmly implanted in the alt.
rock tradition. Þórir likes to describes the live performances as “an
intense mood and a dynamic journey,” but the only way you have
to verify this is heading down and checking ‘em out for yourself as
they open for local post-punk overlords kimono, who are equally
(if not more) worth catching. What a fun night you have in store!

Teitur Magnusson of Ojba Rasta fame just released his solo
album 'Tuttugu og sjö' (“27”), which features the great first single
“Nenni” (“To Be Bothered”). The project as a whole is a departure
from his band’s signature reggae sound, but features similarly
sunny vibrations. On his first solo outing, Teitur has cadged from
world music, journeying with psychedelic essences (possibly
assisted by psychedelic substances) through a sitar-accompanied
realm where anything is possible—even bothering to love, drink,
