Duty in Iceland You’re on your way, you've packed your gear, you’ve made your plans, you’ll stay a year. They said it's great, you'll love it there, the people friendly, good times you'll share. The weather's mild, not quite severe, not much snow, just rain / hear. Plenty to do, many sights to see, open country, with hardly a tree. It's fishing they do, morning and night, an occasional whale, an occasional sight. There's terns and puffins fleet of wing, seals and fox, appear in spring. There's plenty of lava, most of it hard, looks like the moon, much of it scard. A geyser or two, raging with steam, and ice blue glaciers, that seldom are seen. Sometimes pretty, and sometimes bleak, Summerdays long, some .like a week. Wind that is strong, more like a gale, sometimes you walk, sometimes you sail. Now you are here, and now you know, it's horizontal rain, and horizontal snow. It's what you make it, happy or sad, not the greatest, but not half bad. Don't count the days, or dream of when, how much time you have, or time to spend. For you will leave, and when you do, you'll leave a friend, or maybe two. It's not the land, it's what you share, for friends are made, it's friends that carei So treasure this, and if you can, you'll count friends, not time's hand. The time will come, and quickly so, Rotator's ready, and you must go. Above the clouds, and in the dear, you're homeward bound, it's been a year. Pipper Boy Scouts Update Dave Randolph is the new Advancement Chairman. Introduction To Scouting is the Theme for June. From June 13-15 the troop will hold a campout at Camp Seaview.
