IDF/CFK and 57th FIS take 1 st in base playoffs

A t the conclusion of the intramural volley-
ball season, the IDF/CFK Co-Ed team were
presented with their base championship
trophies. The following personnel (back to
front row) were members of the winning
team: (L-R) Jim Smith, Mike Krebsbach,
Jack Bujalski, Mark He user, Ed Flint,
Dorothy Schmidt, Damon Heemstra, Kristine,
Skkehan, Vicki Nichols, Lisa Ka min, Joyce

□ The raquetball playoffs will begin June 13 at 6
p.m. and will run thru the 16th. The awards
ceremony will be held June 17th at noon in the Base
Gym.

□ Personnel interested in teaching Karate please
contact Jack Christwell at the Base Gym. Karate
classes will not be held for two weeks due to the
finding of a new instructor.
□ The gym will sponsor a 4th of July Wrestling
tournament. Interested personnel can sign up at the
Base Gym.
□ June locker rental fees are now due.
□ NATO Women softball tryouts will be held June
Hfrom 5:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. at the Gym Field.
NATO Men will again tryout on June 14 from 3:30
until 5:30 p.m. at the Gym Field.
□ Anyone interested in teaching swimming lessons
at the Base Gym please contact Eimar at 6131.
□ A Life Saving class will be conducted at the
Base Pool beginning June 16. Class will run Mon. -
Fri. from 6-10 p.m. and Sat. and Sun. from 9
a.m. until 1 p.m.. Sign up at the Bawse Gym. For
more info contact Einar at 6131.

The coach of both the men’s and women's, Chief
Warrant Officer Phil Ryan, said that he was
confident of the wins, even before the teams
departed Iceland.
“I never doubted we would win either events
because both are super volleyball teams," said
Ryan, upon being congratulated by Capt. Lloyd.
"Both teams worked hard and gave their best
efforts, so they deserve the wins."
