Recreation Notes Tour Office August 11 South Shore Tour (Sk6gafoss-Vik) August 18 Golden Circle Tour (Gulfoss-Geyser) August 25 West Iceland Tour (Borgarfjordur) Craftech Programs A stained glass class will begin Tuesday from 7 to 9:30 p.m. The class costs $25 and includes instruction on cutting, assembly and soldering. Tuesday’s class is the first in a four-part class. A ceramic dry brush class will be held Monday from 7 to 9:30 p.m. Bring your own bisque or greenware. An introduction to ceramics class will be held next Saturday from 5 to 9 p.m. The use of glazes is the topic. Ceramic pouring classes are offered Wednesday and Friday. The class teaches you how to pour, clean and paint for $12.50, including instruction, ceramic slip and tools. The classes are held from 1 to 4 p.m. and again from 6:15 to 9 p.m. A greenware sale will be held at the Craftech Center tomorrow from 2 to 5 p.m. Greenware and bisque fired ceramic items will be available. Locker rentals are due at the end of each month. Don’t forget to pay your locker rental. Craftech is open Tuesday through Friday from noon until 10 p.m. and on Saturdays and Sundays from noon until 9 p.m. A photo instructor is available to assist people interested in doing their own black and white and color photography during the following days and times: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 6 to 10 p.m.; and Saturday and Sunday from noon to 9 p.m. The Craftech Photo Shop is offering passport picture service for $ 15. Before applying for a passport, stop by the Photo Shop for your photos. The Photo Shop is equipped with enlargers for black and white or color photographs and has chemicals to process color negative film, black and white film and slides. An instructor is on hand to assist and demonstrate to patrons how to get started in photography and how to use photographic equipment. The Craftech Center offers a sublimation print system for transfers to sweatshirts, sports shirts and T-shirts. Transfers can also be done on jackets, caps, metal awards, mugs and special gifts. The Leather Shop has carving tools, knives, punches and miscellane- ous leather tools. “How to” instructions are offered to all patrons interested in learning leather work. Youth Center Pizza and game night will be held tonight from 6:45 to 10:30 p.m. The cost is $2 for all you can eat. A dessert party will be held tomorrow from 6:45 to 10:30 p.m. Get all you can eat for $2. Make your own sundae next Friday from 6:45 to 10 p.m. The cost is $2 for all you can eat. A girl’s slumber party will be held next Saturday from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. The cost is $6 and includes breakfast and snacks. The Youth Center is open Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. for free play for children in kindergarten through 12th grade. The Youth Center is closed to the general public on Tuesday. The only people allowed in the building will be those participating in dance and Tae Kwon Do classes. The cost for the martial arts lessons is $30 per month. Bingo is held every Sunday from 1 to 4 p.m. The admission fee is $2 per person. Arts and crafts night is on Wednesdays from 6 to 8. The cost is $1. Movie Night is now on Thursday evening from 6 to 8. Ballet, tumbling, tap, jazz, pre-jazz, ballroom dancing, adult stretch and gymnastics classes are available through the Youth Center. Special groups and private lessons are available. For information and reservations, call 7508 and ask for Lisa Wendy. Bowling Center The KWBA is sponsoring moonlight scotch doubles tomorrow from 8 to 11 p.m. The cost is $1.25 per couple. The KWBA is sponsoring a two day women’s no tap tournament beginning next Saturday at 1 p.m. A family rent-a-iane special is offered on Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. There is no smoking allowed during this special. Mid-day open bowling will be held Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The cost is 75 cents per game. Free bowling clinics are offered at the bowling center. Call to sign-up. Command party time is every Friday from 2 to 6 p.m. All commands are invited to come and enjoy a few hours of bowling. A command can reserve up to eight lanes. Planning a birthday? Reserve lanes at the Bowling Center for a group of five or more and receive a free birthday kit. The kit includes plates, cups, balloons, games sheets and invitations.
