Ration Cards will not be issued by
Security anymore between the hours of 8
and 10:30 a.m. Wednesday mornings. This
takes affect immediately, due to the new
base indoctrination schedule.
KCPOAA will have a bake sale at the
USO from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Monday.
Northern Country will play Country and
Blue Grass music Monday in the USO at 2
p.m.
A ski sale will be held Monday from 9
a.m. to 4 p.m. in the USO. This is the last
ski sale of the season. Ski packages as well
as suits, goggles, gloves, etc. will be
available. Call ext. 6113 for more informa-
tion.
A School Advisory Committee (SAC)
meeting will be held Tuesday at 4 p.m. in
the A.T. Mahan High School library.
Agenda items for this meeting will be:
second semester scheduling changes,
soccer field, texts, trips, etc. The meeting
is open to all parents, teachers and students
at the middle and high school levels. For

The American Red Cross has openings in
First Aid and CPR classes through March.
Classes are usually held each Saturday and
are open to all community members.
Volunteer instructors are also needed.

A Bowl-A-Thon will be held Feb. 6 at 2:3
p.m. in the Arctic Bowling Alley. Bowlers
and sponsors are needed. Sign-ups are at
the USO. Call ext. 6113/7980 for more in-
formation.
The Black History Month Committee is
conducting an essay contest. First prize is a
$100 savings bond and a free dinner at the
Black History Month Formal Ball on Feb.
20. Essay length is limited to one page
single spaced and the deadline is Feb. 12.
Entry forms can be picked up at the Chapel
of Light.
Story Time
CAPT Charles T. Butler, Command-

recently hosted “story time" at the
base library. The children shared
their Christmas adventures before the
skipper read a few of his favorite
childhood books, two of which were
“Where the Wild Things Are" and

New Arrival
The first baby of the new year was
born Jan. 4,1993, at 3:49p.m. to Eric
S. and Susan L. Israel. Rachael Eliza-
beth Israel weighed seven pounds,
3.3 ounces and was 19 and three-
quarter inches long. Capl. Israel is
